Newsletter #10
We are at the half way point of our team
practice session of fall and there is great excitement surrounding the
team! With 26 newcomers and 13 states
represented on the fall roster, the players have been hard at work carving out
their mark in the program.
Alumni
Weekend a Huge Success
Friday, September 30 we welcomed many former
players and their families back to campus for our Baseball Alumni Weekend. Friday night featured a dinner, meet and
greet with the current team, and stadium tours.
Then we moved on to having family time on the field where families with
kids of all ages ran the bases, played catch, enjoyed the family photo booth,
and took turns swinging the bat. The
night was capped by former Wolverine players taking their swings and trying to
hit home runs as there was an open batting practice session on the field.
Saturday morning many alums gathered at
Sleepy Ridge Golf Course. On a spectacular
Utah fall morning multiple former players tested their luck on the links. The day was highlighted by a hole in one on
the fourth hole.
Mark your calendars – Friday, September 29,
2023 will be next fall’s Alumni Night followed by golf on Saturday, September
30. This is a tradition we are very excited
to start and implement the last Friday of September every year. We hope you can join us!

Last
Prospect Camp of the Year to be Held October 15
The prospect camps have become a huge part of
the Utah Valley Baseball program as it is a way for prospects to experience
Utah Valley Baseball, work with our coaching staff, and play on our field. Over the years these camps have become a key
component to our community engagement and have produced many future Wolverines
as campers have impressed the coaches enough to earn scholarships and other
opportunities in the Utah Valley Baseball program.
The last prospect camp of the year will be
held Saturday, October 15 and registration is available at www.UVUBaseballCamps.com

Wolverines
in the Pros
There
were several Wolverines finishing their professional seasons over the last month. Drew Sims had a great summer with the Glacier
Rough Riders and Mitch Moralez made his professional debut with the Westside Woolly Mammouths. Paxton Schultz had another stellar season in
the Toronto Blue Jays organization with their double-A affiliate, the New
Hampshire Fisher Cats. From June 22 to
September 1 Schultz pitched 44 1/3 innings with a 1.83 ERA in that stretch.
We hope that you can join us for one of the many
great events we have going on this fall!
