Hello Wolverine Fans!

We enter the month of August with an excitement buzzing around the program.  We are now officially in the month of our first meetings and workouts with our team.  Our new staff is eager to get to work with this group.

It will be a unique fall practice period as transition always brings change.  There will be several new faces in the program this fall joining a group of returning players, all jockeying for different opportunities.  Some will be working to make the spring roster while all will be working to make an impression to establish themselves in the lineup or pitching rotation.

There are several events planned this fall that we look forward to.  Below is a description of the events we have planned.

August 3, 21, and 28 – High School Prospect Camps

These one-day high school prospect camps are a great way for players to experience the Utah Valley Baseball Program.  Players will work with our coaches and play at our facility.  The August 3 and 21 dates are sold out but the August 28 camp has space remaining.  Contact Coach Kade Kryzsko for more information at kade.kryzsko@uvu.edu.  All camps are open to any and all participants, limited only by number or age.

Saturday, September 11 – High School Coaches Day

We will have a scrimmage that is open to all high school coaches.  After the scrimmage our new coaching staff will spend time with high school coaches.  This event is free for high school coaches and will be from 1:00-3:30pm.  The gathering with Utah Valley coaches and high school coaches will be limited only to coaches in accordance to NCAA rules.  No high school aged family members of the high school coaches are permitted to be present.

Saturday, September 18 – Outside competition vs. College of Southern Idaho and USU Eastern

This will be a triple header featuring two games with College of Southern Idaho beginning at 11:00am.  Then the third game of the day will be against USU Eastern and is scheduled to begin at 6:00pm.  The games will be open to the public.

Saturday, September 25 – Utah Valley/Utah Valley State College Baseball Alumni Day

We will have a scrimmage that is open to all baseball alumni no matter what era you played in the Wolverine program!  After the scrimmage our new coaching staff will spend time with the alumni and be available for questions and answers.  The event is free and will be from 1:00-3:30pm.  Per NCAA rules, no high school aged family members are permitted to attend the question and answer session with the Utah Valley coaches.

Saturday, October 2 – Outside competition vs. SLCC

This will be a double header featuring two games with SLCC beginning at noon.  The games will be open to the public.

Friday, October 8 – Sunday, October 10 – Wolverine World Series

Our fall practice period will conclude with the Wolverine World Series.  This will be a best of 3 series with our roster divided in to two teams who will be playing for off season bragging rights.  The games will be open to the public with times to be announced in September.

As you can see, there is a busy fall ahead for the Utah Valley Baseball program!  We are excited to set a foundation of team and toughness as we go forward in to a new era of Wolverine Baseball.  We appreciate your interest and following of the program and can’t wait to see you out at the ballpark!

Go Wolverines!
