Newsletter #14
One of the most exciting seasons in Utah
Valley program history has come to an end and summer is in full swing. Here is a look at what is going on inside the
program.
Utah
Valley Reaches WAC Championship Game
The WAC Tournament was a magical time for the
team as they flew through the first three games of the tournament by a combined
score of 42-11 en route to the WAC Championship Game. In the finals, Sam Houston State proved too
tough keeping Utah Valley just one win short of the NCAA Tournament.
It was a great tournament for the Wolverines
highlighted by All Tournament recognition for multiple players and the first
WAC Championship Game appearance since 2016.
Third
Place Regular Season Finish
A win on the last day of the season secured a
16-12 WAC record for Utah Valley which secured third place in the WAC
standings. The third place finish
matched the highest finish in the WAC in program history. The team finished ahead of 10 teams in the
13-team WAC, most in program history in any conference.
15 Home Wins Sets WAC Era Record
The season finished with Utah Valley posting
a 15-7 home record which was the most wins in the WAC era. Home victories were highlighted by a series
sweep against defending WAC Champion New Mexico State, series wins against UTRGV
and Stephen F. Austin, single wins against Grand Canyon and BYU, and a mid week
series victory over the University of Utah.
The rubber match of the series against Utah was played in front of a
crowd of nearly 2,000 fans at UCCU Ballpark as the Wolverines topped the Utes
13-7 on a beautiful night at UCCU Ballpark.
Anderson
and Dickinson Named All Conference
Casey Anderson and Daniel Dickinson received
the highest honors in the WAC Conference being named to the first team. Anderson anchored the pitching staff for Utah
Valley as the Wolverines went 9-2 in WAC games in which Anderson pitched. The line up was sparked by Dickinson hitting
lead off and leading the team in the majority of offensive categories. Dickinson was also recognized as a Freshman
All American by the Collegiate Baseball Magazine with his strong campagne.

These camps are a primary route for our program to identify prospects
and the only way in which we can work with players on field. The youth and development camps target
younger players wanting a great baseball experience while learning more about
the game. For more information or to

3.49
Team GPA Leads All Men’s Sports Teams at Utah Valley
The baseball team’s success was not limited
to the field as the team’s efforts in the classroom were rewarded with a
stellar 3.49 team GPA for the 2022-2023 academic year. This was good enough for best GPA in the
athletic department and over half of the players on the team finished the year
with a 3.6 GPA or better.
