Moralez and Sims Make Professional Baseball Debuts

Mitch Moralez and Drew Sims both made their professional baseball debuts within days of eachother in late July.  Moralez inked a deal with the Westside Wooly Mammoths of the United Shores League in Michigan while Sims signed in the Pioneer league with the Glacier Rough Riders.  Both have gotten off to a great start with their new franchises and having a great time playing professional baseball.

Valencia Named Director of Performance, Strength, and Conditioning

On August 1 JJ Valencia was announced as the Director of Performance, Strength, and Conditioning for Utah Valley Baseball.  This position will play a huge role in our player development as the program seeks ways to promote durability and increases in speed and strength.

Valencia will direct all strength and conditioning exercises in the program as well as be a contact point for the overall health of our players.  His focus will include areas of sleep and nutrition while he also leads the daily warm up for the team.  His addition to the staff is exciting for the entire program!

Utah Valley Baseball Program Recognized for Academic Achievement

The American Baseball Coaches Association named Utah Valley recipients of its prestigious Academic Excellence Award.  The 2022 team demonstrated major gains in its performance in the classroom highlighted by a 3.3 team GPA throughout the school year.  There were also six players on the 2022 roster that were recognized as graduates following the Spring semester.

Program Welcomes Newcomers to Campus

With classes beginning at the end of August, several new players will be making their way to campus and to the ballpark for the first time.  The recruiting class encompasses 11 different states and has four incoming players from the state of Utah.  This class is an exciting mix of transfers and 2022 high school graduates and is certain to play a huge role on the field in the 2023 season.
