Hello Wolverine Fans!

Today marks one month until Opening Day.  As you can imagine, our players are excited to get after it on the field.  We have had some great weather that has allowed us to get outside for most of our work since returning from break.  Overall the team came back in great shape and is preparing diligently for the 56 game season ahead. 


2022 Schedule Announced

The 2022 schedule was announced and it will be a great challenge for the Wolverines.  21 of the 30 WAC contests are against teams that have won a conference championship in the last two seasons.  38 of the 56 games are on the road and 9 games are against Power 5 opponents.

Some highlights of the schedule include two home games against Utah and a home game against BYU.  In all, there will be games played in six states and five different conferences.  The entire schedule can be found here.

 

Fall Semester Grades Released

Fall semester was a milestone term for the Utah Valley Baseball team in the classroom.  Of the 38 players currently on the roster, the performance in the classroom was remarkable!

-3.4 Average GPA
-33 of 38 with 3.0 or better
-21 of 38 with 3.5 or better
-3 players with a perfect 4.0

On Thursday, January 20 the 21 players who were named scholar-athletes will be recognized at the men’s basketball game.

 

UV3 a Great Success!

One of the traditions of Utah Valley Athletics is the UV3 program in which student athletes connect with friends and family requesting generous gifts.  These donations fund many aspects of our program from travel, to equipment, to meals.

This year the team spent three hours calling individuals and asking for their help.  The fundraiser brought in just under $25,000 for our program that will be a huge benefit to our operation as we go forward!  For those still considering a contribution, visit gouvu.com/donate and designate your gift to baseball.

Full team practice begins Friday, January 28 giving us 3 full weekends of scrimmages in preparation for our season.  This time is important for pitchers to build up their arm strength and hitters to adjust to the ball coming out of the pitchers hand.  We will be putting in the work and look forward to starting our season in a month!

  Hello Wolverine Fans!   One of the most exciting seasons in Utah Valley program history has come to an end and summer is in full swing.   Here is a look at what is going on inside the program.     Utah Valley Reaches WAC Championship Game The WAC Tournament was a magical time for the team as they flew through the first three games of the tournament by a combined score of 42-11 en route to the WAC Championship Game.   In the finals, Sam Houston State proved too tough keeping Utah Valley just one win short of the NCAA Tournament.   It was a great tournament for the Wolverines highlighted by All Tournament recognition for multiple players and the first WAC Championship Game appearance since 2016.   Third Place Regular Season Finish A win on the last day of the season secured a 16-12 WAC record for Utah Valley which secured third place in the WAC standings.   The third place finish matched the highest finish in the WAC in prog...

  Hello Wolverine Fans! We are hopeful that your holidays have been filled with fun, friends, family, and food!   With New Year’s Day approaching, it means one thing:   Soon the team will back at it with the start of Spring Semester!    There is always great excitement about the upcoming season during this time of year and this season is no different.   We are excited about our February 17 Opening Day game at UC Davis and several other exciting things that are going on around the program!   2023 Schedule Release The full 2023 schedule has been released and is an exciting slate highlighted by a program record 26 home games!   31 total games will be played in the state of Utah including a 3-game series at Utah Tech and non conference away games at BYU and Utah.   BYU and Utah will both visit UCCU Ballpark twice to culminate 3 game sets with each in-state non conference foe.
